Hey kids,
So I was recently commissioned to make an UP ring box similar to the one by themodelmaker. Being a custom gift maker, I don't feel comfortable just straight ripping off another designer, especially one as talented as he is. So I took the idea of a ring box from UP and put my spin on it.
The house is the house from the movie, and that design is based solely on the great Pixar flick. Since the real story of the movie is that the house flies away, I thought it would be nice to capture the essence of that. So on my box I decided to include the balloons and elevate the house. The post for the ring is set on some sky and clouds, giving the look of the house floating through the sky.
The house measures 2-1/2"x2-1/2"x2-1/2" and with the balloons and sky the piece is 6" tall. The ring post and inside of the house are flocked with a red velour. The clouds and sky are removable.
The piece was originally made from plasticized cardstock and then molded and cast from plastic resin and hand-painted by me. Since the whole piece is molded, I will be doing a limited run of ten ring boxes and putting them up on Ebay on March 1st. This is my annual charity fundraiser, in which I will donate a percentage (40%) to a charity of my choosing. Normally I choose Child's Play, an excellent charity that provides games for children in hospitals, but this time around I think Habitat for Humanity is more theme appropriate.
UPDATE: I was just emailed by a man (coincidentally named Paul) who informed me of a charity that I think may benefit a little more from the auction of the UP houses, and which I also think fits into my traditional charity of helping sick children. The charity is called powerof10 and helps families of sick or terminally ill children to visit Disneyland/Disney world. Theme appropriate, and in keeping with my traditions. So I have officially decided to switch to them.
I will post again once we get closer to the auction date, but I want there to be enough time between my announcement and the auction to really help generate some buzz and hopefully help out a great charity.
5. Yeah! I agree with you. Help a cause is really a great thing. And now a day, internet has developed so much that it helped to donate money to a cause, which is worthy enough to spend money. I am very glad about it. And people should do it more often. Charity, Good causes

Hi!
Nice job on this one. You added balloons, many people asked me about them :) I am sending invitation to all people who asked me about the "Up" house box to visit your auction. I hope you will donate lots of money for children. Thanks for linking to me. Good luck!
