Hey kids,

Amongst the various gamer toppers I do, I occasionally make a topper that actually looks like a real person. I call these Clay Imitations.  Recently, I had the honor to work with Rebecca Noss for a second time. I had already made a nice water-skiing cake topper for her wedding, and she requested that I make a topper for her in-law's 50th anniversary.  You can see images of both below:

 

Now she has just written me the kindest review and I thought I would share it with all of you.

A Companion Cube Cake Topper

Hey kids,

I love it when I get special requests.  My latest one was from Angel Valant who wanted a six inch Companion Cube to accompany their cake on the big day.  (That cake isn't a lie.)  I just finished the cube and thought I would post images here. 

In my process of constructing the first one (made of wood, mostly oak), I made a couple of backup ones just in case I didn't like the way it was heading.  So, basically, I have two that I will be putting up for sale on Ebay, with a portion of the proceeds going to a good cause.  I will let you know when that happens.

This was a topper was requested by a customer, and I think it turned out great.  She had some requests, like change the hair, make her dress more like her actual wedding dress, and to have them hold hands.  What do you think?

Sad news on the homefront

Hey kids,

Many of you know this already, but for anyone else who is an occasional contact I just wanted to let you know that it is with deep sorrow that I must announce that yesterday Lindsay lost our second child.  She was at 18 weeks when we learned that the fetus' health was not good and faced the tough decision on whether or not to continue the pregnancy.  After meeting with many specialists we learned that the child had a slim chance of survival after delivery, and if she did, her life would be wrought with many surgeries, physical and mental hurdles, and no real quality of life.  Even though technology has come a long way, it is my, and Lindsay's, belief that sometimes technology only helps the people around the one who needs it, by keeping the loved one alive when, without intervention, that person would pass. We both also believe it is better to shoulder the pain and suffering for the rest of our lives than to force the child to shoulder it for the rest of hers.  We are heartbroken and appreciate all of you who have shown your support.  Although there may be those of you who disagree with our decision, we would appreciate it if you could respect our choice and only pass along words of compassion and hold your opinions on the matter close to the chest.
