It has been a long time since I have been able to say that I am a proud American. I am an American, and I have my pride, but I can not recall the last time I thought I was proud to BE American.
Tonight is different. Tonight I smiled because I feel that the helm of the ship is finally in the hands of somone who cares.
To think, at this moment, across the globe, people are happy for us. People are cheering for America. For eight long years we have been seen as everything from nuisance to monster. I can only hope that now, after a long darkness, that we can finally close this chapter and move forward with a feeling of hope.
